Is Mario Balotelli the most expensive player in Brescia?

A Latin proverb says: “In rebus adversis meliora sperare memento” – “During the bad times it is of importance to hope for better things”.

After an unsuccessful mission in England, I realized that Brescia Calcio was the right club to revive my FM career.

Although it is in Serie B (2018/19 season), I think the return to the big stage will be faster than ever.

Certainly, Mario Balotelli is the biggest name in the club but I was fascinated by the young players in the midfield: Sandro Tonali, Emanuele Ndoj, and Matia Viviali.

There is no doubt that “training season” awaits me as my team has no serious competition in the league. Let’s see why …

Club Background

Founded in 1911, Brescia are a professional Italian club currently playing in the Serie B.

The club play their home games at Mario Rigamonti and posses great training facilities and good youth facilities. Training ground is Centro Sportivo S. Filippo.

The fans are known by the nickname Rondinelle which means – The Little Swallows. Brescia’s fierce rivals are Atalanta and Hellas Verona.

Rondinelle have history of which they can be proud.

Brescia won the Italian 2nd tier in 1965, 1992 and 1997 and were runners-up five times, won the Italian 3rd tier in 1939 and 1985, and won Anglo-Italian in 1993.

Brescia Squad

Analyzing the player attributes as well as the positions where individual quality would come to the fore, I decided on a 4-4-2 system.

I think this is the best solution at the moment, but time will tell if I was right.

What worries me is the fact that it lacks the “first team” option on the DC and one player at the MR position.

Midfielders are the strongest line of the team, and I mentioned some names at the beginning of the article.

I would single out a key player, Jaromir Zmrhal (Winger), whose market value is € 9.5M.

He is a big enigma for me, and after the preparatory period, I will have a clearer picture of superstar status.

In any case, I will try to make a winning team that will show its potential next season in Serie A!

Captains

Three indicators are important when selecting a captain: age, leadership, and teamwork.

However, there are little things we rarely pay attention to, such as time spent in the club (number of matches) and player’s status in the locker room (dynamics).

I believe that the ideal candidate must be a “highly influential player”, more than 30 years old, and ratings of the above attribute over 14. Can a captain be a young player?

Sure, but only if serious names aren’t on the pitch. In the long run, this is the wrong move.

Imagine a situation where Matthijs de Ligt (19), as Juventus captain, solves a misunderstanding between Cristiano Ronaldo (31) → Gianluigi Buffon (41). Funny isn’t it?

Therefore, we must make the right decisions before the start of the season!

Tactics

The primary formation is the 4-4-2, and backup options: 4-2-3-1 and 3-4-1-2. I see no reason for defensive play because the primary goal is promotion to a higher rank of competition.

I have not been able to test the “Match Plans” option but I will do it in the next period. Simply, I like to change the tactics after a goal scored or conceded.

But before that, I need to find new staff members who will be an inspiration for a new article.

YouTube video

You have seen that Mario Balotelli is the most expensive player in the team, whether we are talking about salary or market value.

On the other hand, Luca Toni is the most expensive Brescia signing after his €15 million move from Vicenza to The Little Swallows in 2001.

Thank you for your time and attention.
